HOME REMODELING CONTRACTOR RESPECTS YOUR HOME
The older home remodeling contractors back in the 50s and 60s were very patient people, kept their job site clean and neat and was respectful and considerate professionals. They also reflected that to their customer’s and to their customer’s immediate neighbors. I have always envied those business ethics and always carry those older contractor values in my own business values. During a normal work day, we are constantly keeping the project site clean and neat and making sure their neighbors properties are maintained as well and respected. By keeping this code of conduct, it makes materials and tools easier to locate, makes the work area safe and the customer knows their property is being respected as it should be. And in the future, if their neighbors are looking for a professional, knowledgeable, clean and neat home remodeling contractor, they won’t need to look very far.

BATHROOM TILE SETTING FOR A LIFE TIME
As a bathroom home remodeling contractor, I have been renovating bathrooms for over 30 years now. Over the years I have seen many beautifully tiled bathtub areas and shower walls fall apart due to poor materials such as drywall for the backer board material for tile setting. Drywall is not a material that is designed for tile setting, as drywall becomes moist and damp it will lose the ability to hold their tiles in which they are set upon in a very short time frame. Years ago bathtub, shower walls and floors were made up of two or three inch built up cement with wire. Today we have cement with fiberglass mesh sheet materials specifically designed for tile setting bonding while being impervious to moisture and water rot deterioration. If these cement sheet materials are used on bathroom walls, shower areas, flooring or anywhere water or dampness may become a problem, you should expect your tile project to withstand the test of time for many, many years.

ENERGY EFFICIENT ENTRY DOOR UNIT PREFABRICATION
As a finish carpenter with my own woodworking shop, I have been prefabricating energy efficient entry doors units for over 30 years.
An energy efficient door unit would consist of a custom made door frame specifically designed for your home. My door frames are designed to match the species of wood in which your door is made from, if you would choose a wood door. I start out by milling the frame with two L shaped cuts called rabbet joints. These rabbet joints are what stops the door when it comes in contact with the door frame. When I cut the rabbet for the entry door side of the frame, I cut it deeper then the standard cut and with a grove. The deeper cut will accept the thickness of the weather stripping so when the door is closed it will compress against the bulb of the weather stripping in the frame and the frames grove will hold the weather stripping flanged end in place. The second rabbet cut is for the storm door to stop against. Since most storm door manufactures build weather stripping in the frames of their storm door units, I design my wood door frames to accept these insulated frames.
The bottom of an entry door is another chance to make a more energy efficient door unit. Designing the bottom of the door to accept a two piece aluminum energy efficient system. The first being a aluminum U shaped boot with a rubber bulb for the bottom of the door and the second being a aluminum threshold mounted at the bottom of the frame so when the door is closed the rubber bulb comes in contact with the threshold and compresses it making an airtight fit.
When the entry door unit is installed, spray foam insulation is injected around the frame and exterior mouldings are applied with hi-grade caulking added.
If your entry door unit has glass in it, or above it, or at either side, then double or triple insulated glass will be used.

ENERGY EFFICIENT WINDOWS PROFESSIONALLY INSTALLED
Energy efficient windows are best found in wood and vinyl products. Windows today have revolutionary insulated technology built in to them. For instance, “warm-edge glass technology” this simply means swapping out conductive glass spacers within the sash for insulated spacers. By doing this the manufacture is now able to stop unwanted temperatures from progressing through the glass. By using insulated glass edge spacers, window manufactures are now able to offer more energy efficient windows.
If you are thinking about buying energy efficient windows, you may also want to think about Low E glass for your project. Low E is a transparent metallic oxide coating usually applied to the inner surface of the glass which reflects long wave infrared waves which in turn gives back dollars to the home owner.
Energy efficient vinyl window sash corners and their master frame corners are mitered and welded together at extremely high temperatures, creating a superior bond. This will prevent any gaps and also creates a rigid structure without using any mechanical fasteners.
Energy efficient weather stripping: Window sashes and their master frames have built in rubber, felt or vinyl weather stripping to prevent exterior elements from entering your home environment. Weather stripping also fights against the entry of mildew, mold and fungus.
Remember, if it doesn't have the Energy Star label it probably isn't an energy efficient product.

ENTRY DOOR INSTALLATION, PHILLY, BUCKS AND MONTGOMERY COUNTIES
Blog from Absolute Home Remodeling & Woodworking
When a customer hires me to install an exterior door unit, I take exact measurements of the brick or wood opening. There are three measurements that I'm interested in, the width, height and depth. The depth measurement is the primary measurement of all. All of my door frames are cut from stock that I keep in my shop. Since most popular doors come with a Douglas Fir finishing my main stock is Douglas Fir lumber. Generally, Philadelphia and its counties are largely made up of brick or stone homes. The exterior door units of these homes always require very deep door frames. Most of these older homes door frames run between 9 to 11 inches in brick homes and up to 18 inches or more in granite stone homes. This is the reason that I stock and manufacture door frames for these particular applications. When a customer hires me for the renovation of their exterior door unit, they know they can depend on me and that I will fulfill their dreams of their professionally installed door unit and with the style of exterior door that fulfills their needs.

HOME IMPROVEMENTS, THE CUSTOMERS ALWAYS FIRST IN PHILLY, BUCKS AND MONTGOMERY COUNTIES
Blog from Absolute Home Remodeling & Woodworking
Since I went in to business more then 30 years ago, I have always relied on my honesty and reliability as a major part of my business ethics. I always managed to keep a consistent job start time each and every day at 7 a.m. and always would be out of the customer’s house before 5:00 p.m. with all work areas clean. I have always respected my customer’s time of peace and quiet when they return home after a long day's work. This is just one of my good work ethics and why customers always call me back. Of course there are always the occasions where overtime is needed and were deadlines have to be met. During these times it is quite reasonable with the customer to hear us working away to completion.
