WOOD EXTERIOR DOOR FINISHING, PHILLY, BUCKS AND MONTGOMERY COUNTIES

Whether you decide to paint your wood door or finish it with stain and polyurethane, remember to finish all six sides. As you can imagine, the six sides would consist of one bottom, one top, two sides and a front and back. Some people forget or don't realize that they have to finish the bottom of the door and the top of the door. This is where the wood door will absorb moisture. When the door absorbs moisture it will most likely be passed through the finish resulting in finish failure and damaging the door at an early age. To give your door extended life, finish inside of the lock holes, behind the hinges and always remove the threshold boot and finish under it.
