Mechanical vinyl windows versus welded vinyl windows. When the vinyl window industry first started out, they would mechanically assemble their window sash frames and sash master frames together mechanically. The term mechanically assembled would mean to fastened or assemble with screws, pins, nuts and bolts etc. Today most of the Vinyl window industry has a revolutionary new way of assembling their window sashes and master frames. The assembling method of these components is called welding. Welded window units are far stronger than their predecessors because of the fact that each corner of the window sash and master frame are cut on 45 degree angles and then welded together which will create a 90° finished corner. There are still mechanical windows made today, but now you can make a choice.
